Our Committees here at FBCVM
Audio/Visual and Digital Media Committee This committee enables people present and people remote to experience the Lord with the proper technological needs to allow them to hear, see and experience the worship of our Savior. This includes all services on and off the Church property. Duties include PowerPoint presentations during services, Sound, Visual, annoucements made on screen, live streaming. maintaining the equipment, set up and take down, and upgrading equipment when the need arises. This committee also provides a constant voice for long-term solutions for a constantly changing high tech world.
Benevolence/Community Ministries Committee This committee oversees and assists the Pastor in the distribution of all benevolence funds. It is responsible for the distribution of grocery gift cards at Thanksgiving. It also promotes and recruits volunteers for the Bosque Valley Food Pantry.
Budget, Finance and Stewardship Committee This committee plans and organizes the yearly budget, monthly reports and expenditures, and deals with other financial issues. It is this committee’s responsibility to present the financial statement to the church at quarterly business meetings.
Building and Grounds Committee This committee supervises and maintains the church buildings and grounds and supervises all construction projects related to the church buildings.
Children’s Committee This committee coordinates children’s activities of the church. It oversees the leadership of the weekday children’s programs and helps coordinate VBS in the summer, including recruitment of teachers.
Church Council This committee is composed by the chairpersons of each of the committees and the Pastor. The Church Council shall meet as needed to coordinate activities of the staff and other committees and shall meet each quarter one week before each quarterly congregational meeting to prepare for that meeting. Members of this committee are expected to participate regularly in worship, congregational meetings and other activities of the Church.
Facilities Use Committee This committee develops guidelines for use, fees, and rental fees of the Church’s facilities for various events and activities and oversees adherence to these guidelines.
Hospitality Committee This committee coordinates all the hospitality ministries of the church, including funeral meals, church-wide fellowship meals and other special events.
Lay Leadership Committee This committee coordinates, recruits, and nominates members for the various committees, teaching positions and other lay leadership positions of the church.
Missions Committee This committee promotes local mission work in the Valley Mills areas as well as explore the opportunities for worldwide mission trips. It promotes and develops FBCVM’s relationship with GAP (Gloria Al Padre) Mexico missions work and be responsible for missions’ education and the promotion of missions’ offerings.
Music Ministry Committee This committee, in coordination with the Personnel Committee, is responsible for selecting and presenting to the Church a candidate when a vacancy for a Music Minister exists. It works with the Music Minister to develop a strong music program. It provides a support structure for the Music Minister in the form of supervision, gathering of ideas, and communication with the church congregation about the music ministry.
Personnel Committee This committee works with the search committee of the Ministerial Committee of interest in the selection of any new Ministerial church staff. It supervises and reviews non-Ministerial church staff as well as handles any personnel issues that might arise and makes recommendations for salary levels for church staff
Outreach Committee This committee organizes and assists in writing notes and making phone calls to minister to both prospective church members and current church members who need a “touch” from the church. This committee will develop and promote an outreach ministry for the church working with the Sunday School classes. This committee is also involved in the prayer ministry of the church.
Safety and Security Committee This committee is responsible for developing guidelines and operating procedures regading safety and security for all Church activities. This committee will provide consistent guidelines for the other Committees of the Church.
Student Ministry Committee This committee, in coordination with the Personnel Committee, is responsible for the selecting and presenting to the Church, a candidate when a vacancy for a Youth Minister exists. This committee works with the youth minister to develop a strong youth program. It provides a support structure for the youth minister and music minister, along with the pastor, in the form of supervision, gathering of ideas, and communication with the church congregation about the youth ministries. This committee aids the youth minister in raising funds for the youth ministries.
Sunday Ministries This committee is responsible for scheduling greeters and ushers for church services. It is also responsible for the ordinances of the church. These ordinances are baptism and communion. For baptisms the committee will operate the baptistery including the maintenance of robes and towels. For communion this committee will help with the juice and bread if help is needed.
